What is dowsing?
To dowse (to divine) is to use a tool as a connector between the conscious
mind and information not normally available to the conscious mind. This
connector is usually a tool such as a pendulum, L-rod, forked stick, or even
your own body by using kinesiology (testing your strength as you are exposed
to different things, to see what weakens you or keeps you strong). These are
just a few of the many ways to dowse. I am an experienced dowser, and use
all of these and other tools.
One can dowse for water, minerals, broken underground pipes, lost objects or
people, the presence and nature of energies, and many other things. It is
possible to dowse for information of many kinds, which brings up ethical
issues. Dowsing has a protocol, an integrity, which must be followed. Before
dowsing on any subject it is important to ask, “Can I, may I, should I,
dowse about (name subject)?”
NOTE: See my article, Thoughts on Dowsing
What does dowsing
have to do with Feng Shui?
Dowsing is not part of Feng Shui. It is a tool used by some Feng Shui
practitioners for the purpose of detecting energies and information that
cannot be discovered any other way.
Uses for dowsing
in a Feng Shui consultation
* Measure the level of chi energy in a room to detect the nature of energies
present;
good energies to enhance, negative energies to remedy.
* Corroborate remedies
* Confirm corners to activate as your focus for health, wealth,
relationship,
helpful people, or other aspiration
* Detect negative energies in a space
* Detect underground water lines
* Detect earth energy grids, emanating both positive and negative energies
* Detect crossings of underground water and earth energy grid lines.
NOTE: These crossings radiate aggressive negative energy over which
beds and desks should not be located.
* Detect and heal other negative earth energies affecting interior or
exterior environments
Geopathic stress
Geopathic stress can be described as the condition caused by negative
underground energies that send up harmful radiations to anyone spending a
significant amount of time over that spot. A large body of research exists
confirming harmful effects on people working or especially sleeping over
such a place. See BOOKLIST & RESOURCES for more information.
Some causes of geopathic stress are crossings of underground water lines or
earth energy grid lines. Other sources are fault lines, areas of underground
decaying marsh matter called black streams, land pollution, graves, burial
or ritual grounds.
Environmental clearing
The practice of dowsing itself, along with the focused intention of the
dowser, can be used for both personal and environmental clearing, with or in
liu of other tools. Interior environmental clearing is also known as ‘space
clearing’. For example, a couple moving into a new home recently vacated by
a couple experiencing an acrimonious divorce would be well-advised to have a
space clearing in the home, especially in the master bedroom. Energies of
those who lived there before stick, whether they are the energies of
happiness, anger, failure or success. Negative energies can and should be
cleared for the well-being of the new occupants.
Overall, the purpose of dowsing in a Feng Shui consultation is to deepen the
diagnosis and the healing of an environment for the purpose of remedying,
enhancing, balancing, and harmonizing your environment to the highest degree
possible. |
